Allianz SE has been ranked industry leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the 17th year. Allianz was one of 133 insurance companies invited to take part in the 2017 DJSI review1.

The annual DJSI review was launched in 1999 and identifies and tracks “the leading sustainability-driven companies based on RobecoSAM’s analysis of financially material Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and S&P DJI’s robust index methodology”2.

Companies’ sustainability practices are evaluated yearly using an industry-specific questionnaire which focuses on elements that don’t usually get covered by conventional financial analysis.

Allianz’s shares have been included in the DJSI continuously since 2000 and it has received the 'Sustainability Award Gold Class 2017' from RobecoSAM in recognition of this.

Allianz UK’s corporate social responsibility consultant, Debbie Goddard, said:

In the UK, we are very committed to continuously improving the company’s sustainability performance. We are delighted that Allianz has been recognised again as the Industry's Leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.”

Allianz SE received the best score in the insurance industry for a variety of company performance criteria3, including:

  • Human Capital Development
  • Risk Detection
  • Business Risks and Opportunities
  • Code of Business Conduct.
