Solar Power provides flexible cover for commercial operators of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic power installations, both during construction and whilst operational.

Our Solar Power policies provide comprehensive Construction All Risks and Operational All Risks cover, with associated Public Liability and Business Interruption cover available, alongside a number of other optional covers.

For Operational risks, we are able to combine cover for multiple technologies under one Renewable Power policy to meet all your clients’ renewable energy needs.

Engineering Consultancy Services

Our engineering specialists, supported by a network of business partners, can provide a range of consultancy, engineering assessment, training and bespoke inspection services for Renewable Power. For example, we can provide:

  • thermal imaging surveys and electrical testing in accordance with the Requirements for Electrical Installations - BS7671; and
  • services in line with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, which can then be supported with suitable non-destructive testing where necessary.

Engineering Inspection Services

With over 600 UKAS accredited engineer surveyors, we have the expertise to conduct statutory inspections on a range of plant and machinery anywhere in the UK. Our inspections include:

  • electrical testing
  • lifting and pressure inspection services
  • lift installation consultancy
  • non-destructive testing
  • a suite of energy usage services 

Our specialist engineering insurance and inspection services can be arranged together or independently.

Loss Control Surveys

We have a dedicated team of renewable power loss control engineers.  Working closely with your clients they can help identify potential risks to their business and provide guidance and on how best to mitigate these.
