| Allianz Insurance is continuing to expand the training opportunities it offers to staff by launching a new in-house claims training academy, building on the success of its Excellence in Claims technical training programme.
The new academy will provide claims employees with the opportunity to develop their technical and
interpersonal skills and consists of four distinct development areas:
Excellence in Claims
Now in its fifth year, this programme aims to develop the skills and knowledge of technical claims
staff. During Q1 2009, all Allianz claims handlers undertook fraud training, designed to increase
awareness of Allianz’s fraud strategy.
Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)/ Professional Qualifications
Allianz will continue to support staff in obtaining professional qualifications. Several Excellence in
Claims courses are accredited by the CII and count towards its continuous professional development scheme, providing industry wide recognition.
Leadership Development
Designed to develop the management skills of existing managers and individuals with
management potential. A number of workshops and team building events have been developed,
including a 12-month ‘Aspiring Leaders in Claims’ programme.
Customer Excellence
Staff will benefit from regular customer service coaching and customer feedback reviews, via
workgroups and commissioned research.
Graham Gibson, director of claims, said: "The academy will extend staff training and support beyond
the success of our Excellence in Claims programme to provide more development opportunities for
staff. This is further demonstration of Allianz’s commitment to staff training and our continuing
commitment to providing excellent service to our customers."
