ALLIANZ EMPLOYEES IN CII SUCCESS

Allianz Insurance is pleased to announce that a further 49 staff members have achieved a Chartered Insurance Institute qualification, following the publication of last October’s exam results.

The overall pass rate achieved by Allianz employees for all subjects taken was 73 per cent, compared with the industry average of between 45 and 50 per cent. The latest qualifications include 16 diplomas, 16 advanced diplomas and 17 certificates, with a total of 29 distinctions.

Two candidates also won national prizes for their performance. Lydia Toson, executive assistant, Claims Division, received the Henry J Tapscott Prize for excellence in completion of the Advanced Diploma, and Mike Cronin, senior underwriter, Allianz Commercial, was awarded the Stanley Brown prize for best performance in the Liability Insurance module.

"This excellent performance is a credit to our employees’ dedication to professional development. It is pleasing that Allianz’s commitment to creating a high-quality learning environment, through initiatives such as the Underwriting Academy and Excellence in Claims, is helping to achieve industry-leading results," said Philip Gennoy, human resources director, Allianz Insurance.

He added: "At a time when many companies are cutting back on their training and development investment, we remain committed to supporting employees in obtaining professional qualifications."
